Egremont, MA – Freshman Edouard Brochu finished as the runner-up in the final regular-season race of the season for the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team, as the Golden Knights competed at Catamount Mountain Resort, hosted by UMass.

The Golden Knights' men finished second among the seven squads in the MacConnell Division, while the Clarkson women ended up in sixth place among seven teams in the MacConnell Division.

Brochu was just .12 seconds shy of the top skier at the event, posting the fifth fastest time in the first run and the second best run for the latter trip down the hill, closing out the day with a time of 1:34.46 for second among 74 skiers. Reed Martin also finished in the top 10 for the day, taking the seventh spot in the race with a time of 1:35.90. Jackson Knobloch then closed out Clarkson's team time, just short of first-place Babson and ahead of third-place Castleton, by going for 1:36.63 in his two runs, good enough for 12th place.

Plenty of other Clarkson skiers performed well in the slalom runs on Sunday as well. Josh Jusiak took 14th in 1:36.69, while five others were in the top half of the field. Noah Marino came in 22nd in 1:38.73, Braden Kruk ended up 26th in 1:40.58, Aristotle Ninos placed 28th in 1:40.83, Zach Zientko was 30th in 1:42.27, and Adin Freeman skied to a 36th-place finish in 1:46.02. Pedro Gonzalez, Evan Phelps, and Colin Cotter did not finish.

Nearly half the field did not finish Sunday's regular-season finale, as 23 skiers came up short in the first run and an additional 11 dropped in the second run, making only 42 of 76 competitors to complete both trips down the hill. Only two of those were Clarkson skiers as Kyla Butler finished 27th overall with a time of 2:05.52 and Kylie Brino took 29th in 2:08.41. Both Ariana Welter and Elyse Donaghue were in solid spots in the first run, as both were in the top 30, but each was out on the second run. Hannah Goetz also did not finish, coming up short in her first try.
