Only one non-league game remains for the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team, and that contest occurs right across town when the Golden Knights take on SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday evening.

The Series: The last time the Golden Knights fell to SUNY Potsdam was in the 2021 season when the team lost 16-9 despite doubling up the Bears in shots and winning nearly every faceoff. In 2024, Clarkson came away with a 9-5 victory in which Matt Szwagulinski had seven groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-3): The Green and Gold possess a balanced scoring attack in which five players have topped 20 points but none have surpassed 30 as yet. Sophomore Robert Fox has posted four points or more in five of the last six games, including a season-best six points on two goals and four assists against Union College on Saturday. Alex Seiler and Connor Matthews are the squad's top goal scorers with 19 goals and 15 goals, respectively, as each has scored at least one goal in every game in 2025.

Key Stats for SUNY Potsdam (4-1): The Bears' lone loss of 2025 came against Brockport in overtime, a team that the Knights by 11 goals in the same 10-day stretch. Goalie Saka Thompson was excellent a year ago with an 8.14 goals against average and .632 save percentage but he has been limited to three games in 2025, posting a 6.26 goals against average and .646 save percentage. Fortunately for Potsdam, the team hasn't missed a beat behind Liam O'Neil, who has started the last two games and recorded a 5.77 goals against average with a .705 save percentage.
