Szwagulinski and Matthews Selected Liberty League All-Stars

Men's Lacrosse All-League

Men's Lacrosse | 5/6/2025 1:20:00 PM

Graduate students Matt Szwagulinski and Connor Matthews of the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team enjoyed standout seasons for the Golden Knights in their final go-around at the college level as both were named Liberty League All-Stars when the conference announced the end-of-year award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Szwagulinski was picked as a Liberty League First-Team All-Star and Matthews earned Liberty League Second-Team All-Star notice.

It was the fourth nod as a conference all-star for Szwagulinski, as he finished 10th in NCAA Division III in caused turnovers per game (2.81), easily the best figure in the Liberty League. Szwagulinski was also the only non-faceoff player that ranked in the top 10 in the conference in groundballs, recording 4.00 per game to place seventh. When considering only Liberty League contests, Szwagulinski ranked fifth in that category with 4.29 per game.

Connor Matthews achieved all-star status for the first time in his collegiate career, thanks in large part to his significant jump on offense. Matthews led the Golden Knights with 33 goals, averaging 2.06 per game (sixth in the Liberty League) and 2.29 in conference-only contests (fourth in the Liberty League), the highest figures among all midfielders in the conference. He also was in the top 10 in the conference in points per game (2.94, ninth) and shots per game (7.00, seventh). His 47 total points were one off the pace for the Golden Knights, as he also notched 14 assists.
