The Series: Union won both games against the Golden Knights a year ago, taking the regular-season contest 15-10 and then eliminating Clarkson in the Liberty League playoffs by a score of 12-9. Clarkson trails in the all-time series against the Garnet Chargers with 16 wins in 46 contests.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-2, 0-0 Liberty League): Two-time All-American Matt Szwagulinski is off to a strong start in 2025. The graduate defender has led the Golden Knights in caused turnovers in each of his four seasons with the Knights, including the abbreviated 2021 season, and already has 21 through just eight games this season, recording 2.63 per game which is easily the best figure in the conference. The Golden Knights' defense has been particularly strong recently, holding its last five opponents to six goals or less.

Key Stats for Union (2-4, 0-0 Liberty League): As usual, the Garnet Chargers aren't dodging anyone in their non-conference slate, having lost to (at the time) 20th ranked Babson College and top-20 ranked Middlebury, with their most recent win being a six-goal win over ninth-ranked Stevens. Nick Lynch has been impressive in the crease for Union, recording 20 saves or more in the last three games for a .650 save percentage overall. Luke McHugh holds a .657 winning percentage on faceoffs and has 55 groundballs in the first six games of 2025.
