Paul Smiths N.Y.- Matthew Clarner and Joey Rouhana combined to lead the Clarkson University Nordic Skiing team, Saturday afternoon, at the ECSC Divisionals hosted by Paul Smith's College. Skiers participated in a 15k individual mass start on day 1

Both the men and women will ski in skate team sprints on Sunday, wrapping up day two of ECSC Divisional competition starting at 10 a.m. 

For the men, Clarner posted a 44:37.79, finishing second overall, out of 60 skiers. Just behind him in third place was Rouhana at 45:11.63. Phil Matthews of Paul Smith's College took first overall on the day for the hosts with a 44:03.89 time. Finn Payne managed another strong showing for the Golden Knights as his 46:02.77 placed him in fifth overall. 

Further down the leaderboard, Torsten Brickley (48:09.36) crossed the finish line in 12th while Silas Bartol (48:53.69) would finish in 14th. Adam Jansen (51:49.90) and Oliver Dolcino (53:03:87) rounded out the Green and Gold in the top half of the field, in 24th and 29th, respectively. Patrick Murray (56:24.69) finished 33rd as Andrew Kanclerz (59:48.86) in 40th closed out the skiers for Clarkson. 

For the women, Skylar Francis completed an impressive first day, leading the Golden Knights in fifth place overall, out of 63 skiers, finishing with a 57:03.56 time. Clare Janas (90:15.08) crossed the finish line in 56th as both teams move towards day two of divisionals on Sunday.
