Jackson, N.H.- Matthew Clarner and Joey Rouhana claimed first and second-place, respectively, on the day as the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team earned their second team win of the weekend at the Jackson Jaunt in New Hampshire on Sunday.
Clarkson would again be the only team to score in single digits (8), good for a team first-place finish, followed by Paul Smith's (14), McGill (31) and the US Military Academy (51). Northeastern and the Colby College Club squads also participated in the second day but would both not score.
Clarner earned his second top finish of the weekend, posting a 17:39.7 followed by Rouhana at 17:55.7 as the only two skiers to finish with a time below 18 minutes. Finn Payne would finish the scoring for the Golden Knights with a fifth place finish at 18:42.4.
Silas Bartol and Torsten Brickley would claim the eighth and ninth positions, finishing with times of 19:24.7 and 19:40.5, respectively. Close behind, crossing the finish line in 11th was Adam Jansen at 19:50.2 and Oliver Dolcino in 13th at 20:08.1. Rounding out the field for the Golden Knights on the day were Andrew Kanclerz (22:10.6) in 17th and Patrick Murray (24:44.8) in 23rd.
For the women, Skylar Francis would again put together a solid performance claiming her second, second-place finish of the weekend at 22:20.9 just a second behind the first place position. Clare Janas would complete the Golden Knights leader board with a 38:56.1 time, good for a 19th place finish. Clarkson would not be scored as only two skiers competed, with three being required in order for a team score.
