CU Men's Lacrosse Preview - vs. Nazareth (3/2)

Fresh off its first win of the season at Brockport on Wednesday, the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team looks to keep the momentum going when the team opens up the home portion of its schedule as the team hosts Nazareth University on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Field.

The Series: Nazareth won all eight meetings between the two teams from 1992-2017, but the Golden Knights have won four straight since 2021. Clarkson and Naz played twice during the abbreviated 2021 season, came away with a victory at home in 2022, and posted a 12-7 victory in Rochester last year. 

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-1): The Golden Knights found some offense on Wednesday against Brockport with a balanced effort that saw the team score 17 goals. Matt Reilly continues to creep up on the 100-point mark for his career, and current sits at 96 points. Reilly has enjoyed solid games against Nazareth in the past two seasons, producing five goals and four assists for nine points. Andrew Kearney also had three points a year ago versus Naz and Thomas Fiebich posted a six-point effort back in 2022. Sebastian Geiger missed last year's game against the Golden Flyers due to injury, but has 11 career points in three games against Naz (8-3-11). 

Key Stats for Nazareth (1-2): McLean Ralston has been busy in the crease thus far for Nazareth, stopping 54.3% of the shots he has faced with 50 saves but still allowing 14 goals per game. Nazareth has done its best to keep up the scoring pace with opponents, led by Kyle Rosenberger's 12 points (7-5-12) through three contests. Quinn McKercher (5-3-8) and Matthew Farrington (3-5-8) have also contributed considerably, while William O'Neill is tied for second on the team in goals scored at five. McKercher has three goals and an assist in the last two meetings against the Golden Knights, and Quinn Conroy recorded three assists in last year's contest.
