With five teams either ranked or receiving votes in the national polls, the Liberty League continues to be in the top tier of conferences, and the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team will face another challenge in third-ranked RIT on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Field.

The Series: Ever since Clarkson surprised the Tigers with a 9-6 win in March 2017, RIT has beaten the Golden Knights, including the 2017 postseason. The two-time defending national champion Tigers have won each of those six games by double figures.

Key Stats for Clarkson (9-2, 1-2 Liberty League): The Golden Knights, receiving votes in the national polls for the second straight week, have the top defense in the Liberty League and are 13th overall nationally in scoring defense at 8.00 gpg. Jacob Mattice leads the Liberty League in goals against average at 7.65 in 588 minutes, making 93 saves for a .554 save percentage in that time. Clarkson's defense has been steady with Matt Szwagulinski, Patrick Sanna, and Mason Volley receiving all of the starts and combining for 50 caused turnovers and 71 groundballs. Thomas Fiebich (96) and Sebastian Geiger (94) are each on the doorstep of joining Clarkson's 100-point club.

Key Stats for RIT (12-1, 4-0 Liberty League): While Clarkson may have the top defense in the conference, the Tigers own the best offense, averaging just under 16 goals per game while also leading the league with 41.7 groundballs per game. Luke Pitcher is tied for second in goals scored in the conference with 32 and John Mozrall has a league-high 26 assists. Pitcher leads the team in scoring with 49 points and Mozrall is second with 38, but there are four others who have scored 25 points or more. Spencer Bell (24-4-28), Clifford Gaston (21-6-27), Seth Grottenthaler (11-15-26), and TJ Hendrick (18-7-25) have all reached 25 points, with Gaston doing so in just eight games.
