The Series: The Golden Knights are only 3-8 all-time against Nazareth, but those three wins have come in the past two years. Clarkson has averaged 17.7 goals per game in its three victories over Naz since the start of the 2021 season.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-0): The Knights got off to a strong start with a 16-7 win over Brockport on Wednesday, thanks in large part to a dominant effort on faceoffs. Matthew Hansen and Logan Wilkinson combined to win 20 of 25 tries against Brockport, continuing the strong trend at the 'x' for the Knights. Since the end of the 2016 season, Clarkson has been .500 or better on faceoffs in every season but one (2019), and even in that year the team went 213-214. Last season, Matt Reilly and Thomas Fiebich enjoyed six-point efforts against Nazareth, with Reilly scoring four goals and Fiebich having an evenly distributed three goals and three assists.

Key Stats for Nazareth (1-2): The Golden Flyers have extra games under their belts compared to Clarkson, having played three times already in 2023. Nazareth is getting some early help from first-year collegians Matthew Farrington and Louis Cogliandro, as that duo has combined for eight goals and five assists. Farrington is tied for the team's scoring lead with seven points, joining senior Greg Bilek. Quinn McKerchner also has five goals and an assist for the Golden Flyers, as well as a team-best nine groundballs. So far, Nazareth is winning 44.9% of its faceoffs (35-for-78).
