The Series: Clarkson is just 7-13 all-time against Geneseo, but the Golden Knights have won three of four dating back to 2016, including a 9-8 triple overtime victory in 2022.

Key Stats for Clarkson (5-0): Grad student Jacob Mattice had a solid game against SUNY Geneseo last year, stopping 14 shots in 68 minutes, 49 seconds before the Green and Gold were finally able to tally ahead in extra time. This year, Mattice has a 6.02 goals against average and a .565 save percentage in five starts. Matthew Hansen and Logan Wilkinson continue to dominate on faceoffs for Clarkson, with Hansen recording winning percentage of 76.7 and Wilkinson coming away victorious on 75.9% of his tries. Defensively, Matt Szwagulinski leads a solid group in back with 11 caused turnovers and 11 groundballs.

Key Stats for Geneseo (4-2): For as good as Mattice was in the triple overtime game last season, the Knights' Mark Pav might have been even better, making 24 saves as Clarkson peppered the Geneseo crease with 57 total shots, including 33 on goal. Pav has struggled a little in 2023 with an 11.36 goals against average and a 47.1% save percentage, but clearly he is capable of a big game. Geneseo has a deep offense with Jimmy Atkinson and Brady Sullivan each scoring 20 points (14-6-20), Christian Marcello tallying 19 (14-5-19), and William McCumiskey producing 16 points (9-7-16). BB Syrop will be a good challenge for Clarkson's faceoff specialists, as he has won 57.1% of his tries with 22 groundballs.
