The Series: Cortland has controlled the series overall with 22 wins in 26 meetings, but Clarkson has been close in two of the last three meetings, falling by two goals in both 2017 (11-9) and 2018 (14-12).

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-2): Joined by Pierce Currie in the 100-point club this past weekend, graduate student Conor Bartlett is setting his gaze upon becoming only the third player in Clarkson history to reach 100 career goals and 100 career assists. In his last game, he hit 90 in both categories (92 goals, 90 assists) and ranks eighth all-time in points at Clarkson. Bartlett and Currie have combined for 22 goals and 14 assists thus far, but are far from the only offensive contributors for the Knights. Sophomore Sebastian Geiger (10-3-13), senior Jay Considine (5-6-11), and juniors Billy Bergan (8-1-9) and Bryan Penney (5-3-8) have also posted solid offensive numbers. On the defensive side, Connor Borchardt and Max Hoffer are tied for the team lead with six caused turnovers, while Tyler King has grabbed 12 groundballs.

Key Stats for SUNY Cortland (1-1): Junior goalkeeper Marc Esposito, the 2019 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year, is off to another strong start, recording a .583 save percentage in 101 minutes, 35 seconds of action this year, while senior Brian Williams has won 75.9% of his faceoff attempts so far, not much out of line with a career winning percentage in the high 60s. Offensively, Brandon Stiles is the team's top scorer through two games with six points on five goals and an assist, but the top scoring threat according to career numbers would be junior Dante Yacavone, who posted 53 points on 29 goals and 24 assists two years ago as a freshman and added nine points on five goals and four assists in an abbreviated 2020 season.
