CU Men's Lacrosse Preview - vs. SUNY Geneseo (3/24)

Fresh off two overwhelming wins in Florida, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team looks to use that momentum in its second league contest of the season when the Golden Knights host Bard College on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Geneseo leads in the all-time series with 12 wins in 17 meetings, but Clarkson has won four of the last six games. In that stretch of six games, four have been decided by just a single goal, with the Golden Knights going 3-1 in the close games, which includes an 8-7 overtime victory in 2016.

Key Stats for Clarkson (3-2): In his last two games, sophomore Ryan Gabriel has gone 23-for-35 on faceoffs (65.7%) and he has a winning percentage of .500 or better in four of five games this year. Shane Kilday's career-high five goals against Cortland have pushed him into a tie with Conor Bartlett for the team lead in points with 14. Kilday's 14 points come on 11 goals and three assists, while Bartlett is even with seven goals and seven assists. Behind Gabriel's 22 groundballs, Mark Uhlig and Liam St. Croix are tied for second with 14 each. The pair is also nearly tied for the team lead in caused turnovers, with St. Croix edging Uhlig by one (8-7).

Key Stats for Geneseo (2-3): Outside of a lopsided 15-3 win over Morrisville State in the season-opener, the Knights have struggled to score goals this season, averaging just 6.5 gpg over their last four contests. Dillon Rogers leads the team with 10 points on seven goals and three assists and Connor Griffin is one point behind with six goals and three assists for nine points. Part of the trouble for the Knights is their struggle on faceoffs, where Geneseo has won 41.6% of draws. Senior Mark Friske has the best luck in the middle, winning 46.3% (37-80).
