CU Men's Lacrosse Preview - at St. Lawrence University (4/12)

After consecutive losses in the Liberty League, Wednesday's tilt against St. Lawrence isn't quite a must-win for the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team, but the Golden Knights certainly hope to get back on the winning track against the nationally-ranked Saints in Canton, NY.

The Golden Knights enter Wednesday's contest with a record of 6-3 overall and 1-2 in the Liberty League, while St. Lawrence recently suffered its first loss of the season, falling to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in league games after dropping a 19-12 decision against RIT. Clarkson has 20 wins in 62 all-time meetings against the Saints, last beating St. Lawrence in 2013 during the Liberty League conference tournament.

Clarkson's offense has been slowed slightly in the last three games as the Knights have been held to single digits in each of their conference games. Senior Ryan DaRin leads the team in scoring with 32 points on 29 goals and three assists, while fellow senior Ryan St. Croix has added in 25 points in 18 goals and seven assists. St. Croix needs just two more goals to become the ninth player in program history to record 100 career goals. Classmates Kyle Brown (11-5-16) and Scott Dosser (4-8-12) have also produced on offense, while relative youngsters Conor Bartlett (11-11-22) and Shane Kilday (8-3-11) have also contributed. Defensively, Nick Strandholm has played well in the Clarkson crease with an 8.54 goals against average and .587 save percentage. Justin Gibson (14 groundballs and 13 caused turnovers) has led a solid defense, while both Mark Uhlig (26 groundballs) and Marc Simmons (23 groundballs) have been busy in the midfield.

The Saints to plenty on offense and defense and at this point are just a single goal of doubling up their opponents (133-67). Conor Healey is among the conference leaders in scoring with 40 points on 16 goals and 24 assists, while Jamie DeNicola leads the team in goals with 26. Jordan Dow (21-7-28) and Andrew Jarrett (18-6-24) have also accounted for plenty of offense for St. Lawrence. Ryan Brigham has been tough on faceoffs for the Saints, winning 58.5% of his attempts and scooping up 57 groundballs. Caleb Kane is the team's top defender with 18 caused turnovers and 29 groundballs, while Alex Terry has received the majority of time in the Saints' crease, boasting a 7.21 goals against average with a .516 save percentage.
