Two games remain in the regular season for the Clarkson University Baseball team and those games could decide whether or not the Golden Knights make the Liberty League postseason as the Green and Gold host RIT on Sunday at Jack Phillips Stadium.

The Series: The two teams split their first doubleheader last weekend in Rochester. The Golden Knights won the first game 10-5 and dropped game two 16-6.

Key Stats for Clarkson (13-14-1, 7-6-1 Liberty League): The Golden Knights will celebrate their seniors on Saturday and several of those upperclassmen have enjoyed outstanding seasons. Grad student Joe Stockman, who returned after his senior year was cut short in 2020, has enjoyed his best season as a collegian, hitting .350 overall and an even more impressive .423 in conference games. Senior Michael Mieczkowski is tied for fourth in the league in his (39) and is slashing .382/.479/.461 overall, bettering those numbers in 14 conference games at .400/.500/.500. A few of the younger players are also standing out, including sophomores Kent Wilson and Colby Brouillette. Wilson leads the league in hits (43) and is hitting .387/.449/.559, while Brouillette is tied for first with 22 runs batted in during conference games and is hitting .365 with a .673 slugging percentage in Liberty League contests. Clarkson has scored 89 of its 219 runs this season in the sixth and seventh innings, just 23 less than what the team has scored in innings one through five. 

Key Stats for RIT (7-18, 3-11 Liberty League): Daniel Capra has one of the sharpest batting eyes in the region, having drawn 30 walks to bolster his overall slash line of .377/.569/.558 with 28 runs scored. Ian Libby and Chris Reilly have each driven in 22 runs for the Tigers and each possess solid batting lines. Libby is hitting .364/.469/.443 and Reilly is batting .341/.450/.455. Reilly is also batting .404 in 14 conference games. RIT ranks near the bottom of the league in batting when it comes to conference-only games, hitting .268 (ninth) with a .382 on-base percentage (seventh), and a .376 slugging percentage (ninth).
