Poor weather conditions have shifted the series between the Clarkson University Baseball team and Ithaca College, as the two squads will now meet up on Friday and Saturday in a four-game Liberty League set.

The Series: Ithaca just recently joined the Liberty League so this will be the first meeting between the two teams as conference members in nearly three decades. The Bombers and Clarkson last played in 2008 and Ithaca has won the last four contests. The two teams split a 2005 doubleheader at Jack Phillis Stadium.

Key Stats for Clarkson (10-10 overall, 5-3 Liberty League): The Golden Knights blasted nine home runs in their last three games after going homerless for the previous nine contests. Kent Wilson, Michael Mieczkowski, and Colby Brouillette each homered in the series against University of Rochester, and Wilson and Brouillette are tied for the team lead with three long balls apiece. Brouillette is hitting .364/.368/.636 and leads the Golden Knights with 21 runs batted in and Wilson is batting .384/.453/.589 with a team-best 21 runs scored. Clarkson leads the Liberty League in fielding percentage at .969 and has committed 21 errors in 20 games.

Key Stats for Ithaca (10-6 overall, 5-1 Liberty League): Grad student Buzz Shirley is posting excellent numbers as a two-way player, striking out 22 hitters with a 3.66 earned run average in 19.1 innings and batting .370/.571/.478 with 13 walks. Freshman Louis Gabbo leads the team in hitting at .381, but the biggest bat of all is Garrett Callaghan, who is hitting .373/.529/.843. Callaghan has 12 extra-base hits with five home runs, 21 runs batted in, and 15 walks. Fellow senior Jack Lynch also has a .594 slugging percentage thanks to three home runs and four triples. The Bombers pitching staff is averaging 6.18 walks per 9 innings, but is also striking out better than one per frame.
