Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Knights fall in ECAC Championship Game

In a rematch of the 2023 ECAC Championship, Clarkson would fight hard but eventually fall to the Raiders 3-0.

Clarkson would have a much better start then they would last year, as they had good pressure to start and the Knights would out shoot the Raiders in the opening period 15 to 14.

Clarkson would get the games first power play just under halfway through the game, when Sydney Bard would go off at 12:38.  The Knights would have a puck bounce over the Raiders goaltender and then skip over Brooke McQuigge's stick in net front, but would not score on the advantage.  Shortly after, the Knights would take a tripping penalty and Colgate would get their first chance of the game on the power play.  With 43 seconds left, Nicole Gosling would intercept a pass and send it the length of the ice allowing the Knights to get a change and kill off the rest of the penalty with fresh legs.

In the third period, Colgate would get a power play 5 minutes in but good stick from Brooke McQuigge and a glove save with 26 sec left in the advantage would keep it 0-0 and then a huge scrum at the net caused some chaos at the net, but the puck would stay out.

Colgate would be the first to score when a puck would hit Pasiechnyk and pop in the air and sneak into the net at 8:25.

Colgate would pressure hard after that goal not allowing the Knights to gain momentum as they looked for the equalizer.  Clarkson would get the goalie off for an extra attacker at 18:19, but Colgate would hit the empty net to extend the leas to 2-0 at 18:36.  The Knights would pull Pasiechnyk again after the draw but a intercepted pass near center ice would lead to another empty net goal and the final of 3-0 for the Raiders.

Michelle Pasiechnyk would finish with 38 saves on the night.

Following the game, Clarkson's Haley Winn and Sena Catterall would be named to the ECAC Championship All Tournament Team.

The Knights will find out during the NCAA Selection Show at noon on Sunday shown on ESPN News what their fate will be with the NCAA Tournament.
