Looking to recover from a season-opening loss, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team won't have long to wait for redemption as the team heads to Utica to take on SUNY Poly on Friday evening.

Live Stats

The Series: After having a contest cancelled back in 2021-22 against the Wildcats, the Golden Knights got their first look at SUNY Poly in January 2023, coming away with a 67-62 victory in Alumni Gymnasium.

Key Stats for Clarkson (0-1): Sophomore Raelin Burns enjoyed one of her best games as a freshman last year against SUNY Poly, netting 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting and three 3-point field goals. Junior Veronica Tache also posted solid numbers with 10 points versus the Wildcats, one short of her collegiate-best, and classmate Cassidy Dumont was slightly above her scoring average from a year ago with 18 points.

Key Stats for SUNY Poly (15-13 in 2022-23): The Wildcats will certainly have a different look from last season's squad. Gone are Molly Burdick (20.9 points per game), Lyrik Jackson (15.8 ppg), Lauren Denny (9.4 ppg), and Kierra Connor (8.6 ppg). A considerable majority of SUNY Poly's 62 points against the Knights were scored by Burdick and Jackson, who combined for 50 points in the game. The top returner from a production standpoint is Patricia Vanlue, who had six points and nine rebounds against the Knights in January 2023.
