Dalgety Scores Career-High 16 in Knights' Loss at Ithaca

Ithaca, NY – A significant run in the middle of the second half helped Ithaca College pull away from the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team as the Golden Knights fell to the Bombers 93-65 in Liberty League action Friday night.

The Golden Knights saw their mark fall to 5-17 on the season and 2-13 in conference games while Ithaca moved to 14-7 and 10-4. Clarkson will face Rensselaer on Saturday afternoon to close out the weekend.

The two teams got off to vastly different starts. Ithaca scored 18 points in the first six and a half minutes while the Knights could muster just one basket in that same stretch of time, shooting 1-for-11 with three turnovers at the start of the contest. Ithaca edged out to a lead of 17 points near the 11 minute mark of the first half and held a 15-point advantage with 6:45 remaining, but Clarkson began to chip away thanks to 3-pointers from Matteo Sinon and Malachi Harris in a stretch of 75 seconds. When Chris Hulbert converted inside with 45 seconds left, the Knights were within eight nearing halftime.

At the start of the second half, the Knights pulled to within four in the opening minute, but Ithaca quickly had an answer and regained a slightly larger advantage. Chris Hulbert his a pair of free throws near the 15 minute mark to put the gap at nine points. Immediately after those makes, however, Ithaca went on a 28-7 run over the course of nine minutes with Ithaca shooting 12-for-22 in the stretch and Clarkson going just 3-for-10. That streak ended any hope of Clarkson making a comeback.

Freshman Jack Dalgety led the Knights with 16 points, shooting 7-for-10 from the floor while Chris Hulbert also finished in double figures with 10 points. Blake Gearhart, Malachi Harris, and Matteo Sinon also added nine points each for the Knights.

For Ithaca, Luka Radovich was 8-for-12 from the floor for 18 points while also adding in nine rebounds and Andrew Geschickter added 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting. Overall, the Bombers took advantage of Clarkson's miscues, scoring 34 points off the Knights' turnovers.
