Rolling along with a three-game winning streak, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team opens up Liberty League play this weekend as the team travels to face Union and Rensselaer.

The Series vs. Union: The Dutchwomen swept last season's series after being swept themselves in 2017-18. Clarkson struggled on offense against Union a year ago, averaging just 42.0 points per game and 43.7 points per contest over the last three meetings. Molly Stewart is the lone player to have no issues with the Union defense, scoring 18.5 points per game in 2018-19, accounting for 44 percent of the team's offense.

The Series vs. Rensselaer: The Engineers have won 52 of the 74 all-time matchups against Clarkson, but the Knights have won four of the last six meetings and five of the past eight games. The two steams split a year ago, with Clarkson winning the first game by double figures but then dropping the second contest by more than 20.

Key Stats for Clarkson (4-1): Stewart leads the team with 13.4 points per game and ranks third on the team with 5.8 rebounds per contest. She leads the conference in 3-point field goals made (13) and is within just six of tying for third in program history in 3-pointers made. Junior Emma Buonanno is producing across the board with 8.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.8 steals per game with a team-best 45.7% field goal percentage. Buonanno and classmate Hannah Earl (2.8 steals per game) rank first and third in the conference in steals per contest, with Earl also adding in 11.2 points per contest. The Clarkson defense leads the conference in defense, allowing only 49.2 points per game.

Key Stats for Union (1-3): The Dutchwomen have six players that average between 9.3 points and 6.8 points per game, with no one producing double figures. Further to that point, four different players have led Union in scoring so far. Anna Metcalf leads the team at 9.3 points per game and Amber Raisner is second at 8.8 points per contest while Elly Vaughan is close to a double-double per game (8.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg). Union is last in the league in scoring (56.3 ppg) and is next to last in points allowed (65.8 ppg) and last in field goal percentage by opponents (.440).

Key Stats for Rensselaer (4-1): The Engineers are the opposite of Union, leading the league in scoring (75.0 ppg) thanks to four players averaging double figures. Courtney Lewis leads the team in scoring (14.4 ppg) and is fourth in the conference in field goal percentage at 45.6%, but she has been especially dangerous recently, averaging 18.7 ppg over the last three games. Sam Krumbhaar averages 14.2 points and ranks second in the league in steals (3.4 spg) and Celia Tomlinson is posting a double-double per game at 11.8 points and 13.8 rebounds per contest. Tomlinson is averaging 15.3 rebounds per game over the last four games and leads the league in both offensive rebounds (5.2 orpg) and blocks (2.6 bpg). Ines Ortea also chips in 11 points per game. A year ago, Ortea averaged 18.5 points per contest against the Knights.
