Potsdam, NY - Cameron Arterberry scored 18 points, shooting 6-for-11, as Plattsburgh State sprinted their way to a 72-58 win over the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team Tuesday evening at Clarkson's Alumni Gymnasium.

The Cardinals shot out to a 20-9 lead in the first five minutes and never looked back, forcing the Golden Knights into 24 turnovers. Calvin Fraser scored 17 points while Johnnie Carter added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals.

Kevin Williams (Syracuse, NY) scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Clarkson. Williams also held Plattsburgh's leading scorer, Curtis Smith, who came in to the game averaging 25 points per game, to just seven points.

Freshman Jon Youngmann (Corinth, NY) scored 10 points and added six rebounds for Clarkson. The Golden Knights grabbed 20 offensive rebounds, but shot just 38.9% from the floor, while Plattsburgh shot 52.1% in the game, including a 58.3% rate in the first half.

Clarkson fell to 1-2 on the season with the loss, while Plattsburgh State improved to 3-0.

Clarkson returns to action next week when they travel across town to face Potsdam State at Maxcy Hall.
