Mattingly was one of three members of the staff chosen as a conference all-star, being picked as a Liberty League Honorable Mention. He went 5-2 with a 2.53 earned run average and a .246 opponents’ batting average, going the distance four times, including a pair of shutouts.

In four years, Mattingly earned eight wins and tossed six complete games while picking up three saves. He tossed 143 innings with a 3.71 earned run average. From the batter’s box, Mattingly hit .289, including a .342 pace as a sophomore.

As well as playing for four seasons with the Knights, Mattingly served for several years as the baseball team’s representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
