In its first games since Spring Break, the Clarkson University Softball team is set to play a doubleheader at SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday in a rematch of mid-March.

The Series: The first time around, Clarkson won the first game with relative easy, 6-1, but the Bears came back from a 3-1 deficit to tie the game in the sixth, scoring seven runs in the top of the seventh to claim a 10-3 win in the nightcap.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-8): Junior pitcher Devin Fitzpatrick ranks second in the Liberty League in strikeouts with 48 and has pitched the most innings of any hurler in the conference at 55.1, posting a 2.15 earned run average and 1.19 WHIP. She also is tied for third in the conference in home runs (3) and is tied for seventh in RBI (12). Senior Molly Pezzano has a five-game hit streak with three multi-hit games, having hit .571 in that stretch to boost her season average to .343.

Key Stats for SUNY Potsdam (5-5): Kaylee Dobransky went 4-for-8 in the first doubleheader between the two teams and is hitting .455/.472/.576, leading the squad in slugging percentage. Danielle Moscarello (.500/.552/.500) and Anna Grottola (.367/.429/.533) have also done damage at the top of the lineup for the Bears. Sierra Ashley has been effectively wild so far with 12 walks in 19 innings, but she has allowed only 11 hits for a .164 opponents' average and a 2.21 earned run average. Lexie Cottrill also has a 2.87 earned run average through 31.2 innings of work.
