The Series: The Golden Knights won all four games against the Thoroughbreds and Engineers a year ago. The Knights escaped with a one-point win over Skidmore on the road and then won by 15 at home, while both games against RPI were close, with Clarkson combining for the two victories by a margin of just five total points.

Key Stats for Clarkson (4-3, 1-0 Liberty League): Senior Finn Cork is leading the Liberty League in field goal percentage (56.9%) and rebounding (9.3 rpg), helping Clarkson win four of its last five games. Sophomore Steve DeRegis is the top scorer for the Knights in 2024-25 so far, averaging 14.0 points per game with a 42.1% success rate from beyond the 3-point arc, which includes at least three makes per game from deep. Braeden Burns is just behind Cork in rebounding, ranking third in the league with 8.4 boards per contest.

Key Stats for Skidmore (3-2, 0-0 Liberty League): The Thoroughbreds suffered through a down year in 2023-24 due to having an incredibly young team. So far, Skidmore's defense has played well, allowing opponents to shoot just 36.7% from the floor, a figure that ranks in the top 20 in the country, while also giving up a 26.9% success rate from beyond the arc. Charlie Fantom was off to a strong start a year ago, but missed the final 18 games of the season. He leads the team with 13.6 points per game as a sophomore.

Key Stats for Rensselaer (6-0, 1-0 Liberty League): One of the top defensive teams in the country a year ago by controlling the pace of play, the Engineers are doing much of the same this year. Last season, RPI finished the year allowing only 58.4 points per game, which ranked fifth nationally. So far in 2024-25, the team is giving up 53.3 points per contest, currently fourth in the country. Only one player averages more than double figures for RPI, but four players score 9.3 points per game or more. Andrew Deppe (10.8 ppg), Avery Eugster (9.8 ppg), Chuck Clemons (9.3 ppg) and PJ Scalisi (9.3 ppg) are all scoring threats for the Engineers.
