After opening the season on the road with 2 record breaking victories, the Clarkson Women's Hockey Team will open up a 4 game home-stand with the University of Vermont tonight at 6:00 pm at Cheel Arena.
Last season the Knights won a close one (4-2) and tied a second game (2-2) at Vermont early in the season. Overall the Knights are 16-2-4 against the Cats, including the programs first official game at Cheel back in 2003, a 1-1 tie. Â
For the Knights, the scoring was often but well balanced last weekend. Fourteen different Knights scored on the weekend and 18 players registered a point.
Haley Winn and
Nicole Gosling picked up where they left off last season, ascending to the top of the stats page.  Both have 9 points after 2 games, Winn with 4 goals and Gosling with 3. BC transfers,
Sidney Fess and Carloine Goffredo both chipped in a pair of goals to help bolster the point production lost with the graduation of Dom Petrie, Darci Lappan, &
Brooke McQuigge.
Julia Minottii will start in net for the Golden Knights. She only faced 3 shots last Friday, but only allowed 1 goal last year in action vs Vermont. Â
Clarkson is currently ranked 3rd in the national polls, Vermont comes in unranked. These will be Vermont's first official games, they did drop a 3-1 decision to Concordia in an exhibition game last weekend.Â
Tonight's game can be streamed on ESPN+, the home to ECAC Hockey, and internationally on Stretch. You can also catch the action on air on B99.3 with Casey Ditzel on the call.
