Off to the best start in program history, the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team will look to keep its winning ways alive on Saturday as the Golden Knights host RIT in Liberty League action at Hantz Field.

The Series: RIT has handled Clarkson over the years, winning 26 of the 37 meetings, but the teams have tied over the past two seasons, including a scoreless endeavor in 2022.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-0-2, 1-0-0 Liberty League): The Golden Knights are unbeaten in 2023 and have earned a national ranking for the first time in over 40 seasons, but the success actually runs back to last season. Clarkson ended 2022 with a 4-1-2 roll, with the lone loss coming in overtime during the Liberty League semifinals, putting the Green and Gold at 10-1-4 over its past 15 contests. Much of the credit can go to Clarkson's defensive effort from forward to back. Consistency on defense seems to rule, as Arin Bates (720 of a possibly 720 minutes), Emily Colby (705 minutes), and Julia Tylar (694 minutes) rarely take a play off, similar to midfielder Emily Davis (675 minutes). All four players have also contributed on offense, with each contributing at least one assist in 2023.

Key Stats for RIT (2-4-1, 0-0-1 Liberty League): The Tigers eked out a tie against top-ranked William Smith on Wednesday as RIT trailed in shots (22-4) and corner kicks (11-0). Olivia Harris and Elena Onodera are tied for the team led in points at five, with Harris producing a goal along with her three assists and Onodera scoring a pair of goals with one helper. Both Rachel Marriott and Roberta Moger have contributed three points with a goal and an assist apiece. Emily Sanchez has seen the majority of time in the RIT goal, playing 524 minutes with a 1.37 goals against average and a .636 save percentage.
