POTSDAM, NY - The Knights were able to ride three 2nd period goals to cruise past Dartmouth 4-0 and secure a home playoff spot at minimum as the 6th seed.
The Big Green started strong, putting pressure on the Knights in the first half of the period, but the Clarkson goaltending and team D held strong. At 16:09
Alex Campbell would put the Knights up 1-0 with his 14th goal of the season.
The 2nd period was all Clarkson right from the start.
Anthony Romano, back in the lineup after significant time off, scored at 1:24 to put the Knights up 2-0. Then
Ryan Taylor got his 8th of the season at 5:34 to make it 3-0. A power-play goal at 10:05 might have been one of the best executed goals of the season.
Noah Beck went cross-ice to
Alex Campbell who was able to touch it to
Mathieu Gosselin for a one-timer.
Ethan Haider would make 23 saves for his 3rd shutout of the season.
Clarkson was 1 for 2 on the power play, while holding Dartmouth to 0 for 3 on the power play.
The Clarkson win and Princeton loss, secures the 6th seed for Clarkson. The Colgate loss to Yale, keeps the chance open that the Knights could catch the Raiders for the 5th spot. Clarkson will need a regulation win tomorrow vs Harvard and a regulation loss from Colgate vs Brown to tie in points.
