POTSDAM, NY - The Clarkson Men's Hockey team helped cap a great COGO and Hall of Fame induction weekend with a 4-1 win over Princeton.
The Knights got the crowd into the game early when
Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup scored at 4:37, with an assist from
Ayrton Martino.
Mathieu Gosselin would extend the lead to 2 goals when he got an unassisted goal at 16:27.
Princeton would pull to 2-1 when they would get the only goal in the 2nd period, from Noah de la Duranteaye.
In the 3rd period the Knights would be faced with a penalty kill 5:18 into the period and using the momentum from the kill,
Anthony Callin would extend the lead to 3-1 at 7:36, Martino & Schmidt-Svesjtrup would get their 2nd point of the night.
Princeton would pull Aidan Porter in favor of an extra attacker at 17:19 while on the power play, giving the Knights free reign to ice the puck at the open net, and at 17:41
Kaelan Taylor would get his first goal as a Golden Knight and put the game out of reach.
Ethan Haider would make 19 saves for the win. The Knights were 0 for 2 on the power play while holding Princeton to 0 for 1 on the power play.
