Despite giving up an early goal, the Clarkson Women's Hockey Team scored 3 unanswered goals to get a 3-1 win at Brown tonight.
After several shifts of heavy pressure by Clarkson, Brown's Madie Stockfish got a rebound goal off of a partial breakaway to put the Bears up 1-0.
Clarkson would continue the pressure and at the 7:07 mark of the 1st,
Anne Cherkowski would even the score on the Power Play.
In the 2nd period, Cherkowski would get her second goal of the game just 1:11 into the period, with assists from
Gabrielle David and
Sena Catterall. Clarkson would extend the lead to 3-1 at 15:10 of the 2nd, when the speedy
Jenna Goodwin would score from
Brooke McQuigge and
Stephanie Markowski, giving Markowski two assist on the evening.
In the 3rd period, the Knights would outshoot Brown 13 to 4, using their offensive zone time as a weapon to hold Brown off the board and finish with the 3-1 win.
Michelle Pasiechnyk would play 2 periods, making 11 saves and
Julia Minotti would make 4 saves over the final 20 minutes.
Clarkson was 1 for 3 on the power play, while holding Brown to no goals on 2 attempts.
