The Golden Knights opened ECAC play with a dominate 40+ shot performance en route to a 4-0 win over Union.
Clarkson started the game under odd circumstances as they were asses a pre game protocol penalty for not taking the ice in time for warm ups, but they didn't allow a shot on the kill and it was all Knights from that point.
Clarkson would keep consistent pressure on Union in the 1st period, building a 12-2 shot advantage. The pressure would pay off early in the 2nd period, when at 2:08,
Sena Catterall would get her 2nd of the season,
Olivia Hanson would get the assist. The Knights continued the heavy pressure holding a 26-7 shot advantage heading into the 2nd intermission.
In the 3rd, the pressure started to buckle the Dutch, as the Knights exploded for 2 goals. On the power play
Anne Cherkowski would score from
Darcie Lappan and
Haley Winn. The Knights would go up 3-0 when
Sena Catterall scored her 2nd of the game when she picked up a blocked shot off a faceoff in her own zone.. Then a great forecheck from the Bogden, Lessard, Kirwan line, led to a turn over and a goal from
Jaden Bogden, her 2nd on the season.
Clarkson will take on RPI tomorrow at 3:00 pm, it is costume night at Cheel, so wear your best Halloween get up and cheer on the Knights.
