Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Knights lose on late goal at Colgate

Knights Captain pulls within 1 point of tying All TIme Points Lead

The Clarkson Women's Hockey Team boarded a bus for the trip downstate for the second time in 4 days to face Colgate in Hamilton, NY.

The Knights Captain and reigning Patty Kaz winner, Elizabeth Giguere, scored early as she was able to split the D and get a breakaway goal at the 3:14 mark of the first period, Lauren Bernard and Stephanie Markowski assisted on the goal.   Colgate was able to tie the game at the 16:25 mark when Taylor Kirwin scored for the Raiders.  Freshman Goaltender Michelle Pasiechnyk got her first start in net for the Knights and made 8 saves in the first period.

The second period saw early pressure from Colgate which resulted in a goal at 7:17 from Nemo Neubauerova, her 3rd of the series against the Knights.  Brooke McQuigge evened the game up at 17:12 with assists from Nicole Gosling and Florence Lessard.  Shots were even in the period at 10 a piece.

The third period saw back and forth action with no goals, but as the game seemed set for overtime, a broken play the the blue line turned into an odd man rush and with :38 seconds left in the game, Danielle Serdachny scored on a laser shot just under the crossbar to seal the win for the Raiders.

Pasiechnyk ended up with 24 saves on 27 shots in her collegiate debut.  The Knights went 0 for 2 on the power play but the penalty kill did their job, holding Colgate to 0 for 4 on the night.
