It's still early in the conference season, but Tuesday's game between the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team and St. Lawrence University could go along way in deciding a playoff spot come late-February as the Golden Knights hit the road seeking a sweep of the Saints.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: The Golden Knights have won 61 games against St. Lawrence in the last 90 years, including an 81-78 victory on December 10th at Alumni Gymnasium. Whichever team has won the first meeting between the two teams has also won the second six consecutive years.

Key Stats for Clarkson (4-12 overall, 2-7 Liberty League): The Golden Knights have forced 84 turnovers over the last five games (16.4 per game) while committing just 44 (8.8 per game) during that stretch. Overall, the Knights are plus-74 turnovers (+4.63 per game) for the season, which included forcing the Saints into 20 miscues in the first meeting back in December. Chris Hulbert leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (15.3 ppg), with his career-high of 29 coming against the Saints six weeks ago. Hulbert leads the conference in 3-pointers made per game (3.3) while senior Matt Higgins needs just three more to tie for fifth all-time in that category at Clarkson. Higgins is averaging 14.4 points per contest, the seventh most in the league. Freshman Ryan Miles-Ferguson continues to make incredible progress for the Knights, averaging 11.2 points per game over his last six games. In that stretch, he is shooting 56.9% overall and 65.9% from inside the 3-point arc.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (5-10 overall, 3-6 Liberty League): The Saints began the conference season with losses in their first four games, but they have recovered to win three of the past five league contests. St. Lawrence is second to last in the league in points allowed at 79.3 ppg. Freshman Trent Adamson is developing quickly for the Saints, averaging 15.4 points per game and leading the conference in field goal percentage at 59.1%. Adamson has scored 20 points or more in four of the last six games for the Saints. Andrew Geschickter (12.4 ppg) and Luke Hicks (12.1 ppg) are also averaging double figures while Chris Jeffrey leads the conference in rebounding at 9.8 boards per game. Jeffrey would also rank among the league leaders in field goal percentage (57.0%), but is just short of qualifying for the leaderboard.
