A couple days of rain saw the Clarkson University Softball team shuffle its schedule slightly, but the Golden Knights should be able to get their doubleheader against University of Rochester in on Sunday afternoon.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: In 10 games between the two teams, Clarkson has come away with two wins, a sweep during the 2017 season. Last year, the Yellowjackets won with a walk-off double in game one after trailing the entire game and then used that momentum to win game two as well.

Key Stats for Clarkson (22-12, 6-4 Liberty League): Freshman Olivia Zoeller has served as a pitching roadblock for opponents this year, especially in conference games. Zoeller is fourth in the league in earned run average (2.16), second in innings pitched (97.1) and first in strikeouts (85). She has been even better in the Liberty League, allowing just a 0.80 earned run average with a 0.74 WHIP and .171 batting average against in five starts. Not surprisingly, she has gone 4-1 with three complete games and 31 strikeouts in 35 innings of work. On offense, graduate student Raeanna Dunn continues to hit, batting .441/.500/.508, with the former two figures ranking in the top three in the conference. She also leads the league in hits (52) and is second in both runs scored (33) and stolen bases (24).

Key Stats for Rochester (15-13, 5-3 Liberty League): While Olivia Zoeller is already among the top pitchers in the conference as a freshman, first-year catcher and infielder Alizah Ayon is bashing her way to a memorable season for the Yellowjackets. Ayon leads the conference in home runs (10) and slugging percentage (.793) and boasts a .425/.505/.793 slash line. She also has the most runs batted in (37) and total bases (69) while striking out only three times in 103 plate appearances. Jessica Conforti (.370/.417/.444) and Harleigh Kaczegowicz (.326/.407/.568) also contribute to the offense, while Sammi Re has put up big numbers (.462/.444/.538) in eight conference games. Elizabeth Bourne is the team's top hurler with a 2.61 earned run average and 1.34 WHIP in 85.2 innings, with her success coming while pitching to contact. Bourne has just 29 strikeouts, but has impeccable control with only 14 walks allowed.
