With the final weekend of league play at hand, Clarkson still finds itself in serious contention to earn a third straight ECAC Hockey regular season title. The Golden Knights, however, will need to win both games this weekend at Cheel Arena against tough opponents and have the out-of-town scoreboard go in their favor if they want to secure their fifth overall conference regular season championship.

Guided by 11th-year Head Coach Matt Desrosiers and assistant Britni Smith and Tony Maci, Clarkson hosts 6th-ranked Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Quinnipiac on Saturday's Senior Day, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

The Knights are in third place in the conference standings, owning 30 points with a 15-5 ECAC Hockey mark. The Green and Gold are three-points behind league-leader Princeton. Clarkson, which has already secured a top four spot, is two points in back of Cornell in second place and one point in front of fourth-place Cornell.

Ranked 4/5th in the national polls, the Golden Knights are the only team in ECAC Hockey with 20-or-more wins, posting a 24-7-1 overall record.

Series Princeton: The Golden Knights lead the Princeton 18-12-2 in 32 all-time matchups. A season ago, Princeton snapped a 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1) for the Knights with a 2-0 win in New Jersey, but Clarkson exacted some measure of revenge by taking down the Tigers 3-1 just a few weeks ago at Hobey Baker Rink. Clarkson holds a slight 9-7-1 advantage against Princeton at Cheel Arena, but the Green and Gold have not lost to Princeton at home since the 2010-11 season. In eight career games versus the Tigers, Loren Gabel has scored 12 points on eight goals and four assists. In the first matchup between the two teams this season, Kassidy Sauve turned away 37 of 38 shots to send Princeton to its first conference loss of the year. Sauve stopped all 15 shots on the power play, holding the Tigers in check (0-for-6) on the man advantage.

Series Quinnipiac: Clarkson holds a 23-12-4 advantage over the Bobcats in the all-time series. The Knights are on a modest two-game winning streak with wins in five of the last six contests. Clarkson and Quinnipiac have played the last 10 matchups fairly evenly with the Knights holding a slight 5-4-1 edge, and Clarkson is 11-8-2 versus the Bobcats at Cheel Arena. The last time the two played in Potsdam, Quinnipiac stunned the fourth-ranked Golden Knights in overtime. Loren Gabel and Elizabeth Giguere have each collected five points against the Bobcats in their respective careers, with Gabel scoring four goals with one assist and Giguere tallying one goal to go along with four assists. Earlier this season, Kassidy Sauve stopped 32 of 34 shots in Clarkson's 3-2 victory.

Scouting Princeton: The Tigers (18-4-5 overall, 15-2-3 ECAC) hold a modest one point edge in the ECAC standings over second place Cornell and a three-point lead over the Knights. After having its 20-game unbeaten streak snapped by Clarkson a few weeks ago, Princeton had an opportunity to gain ground in the ECAC with four games against teams in the bottom portion of the conference. With a 2-1 loss to RPI this past weekend, the Tigers gave Cornell and Clarkson renewed hope in the race for home ice advantage. Princeton is led offensively by freshmen Sarah Fillier and Maggie Connors. Fillier leads the nation in points per game (2.04) with 47 total points, while Connors ranks third nationally in total goals with 24 to go along with 13 assists for 37 points. Starting goaltender Rachel McQuigge is 10-4-4 in 18 starts with a .932 SP and a 1.75 GAA.

Scouting Quinnipiac: The Bobcats enter the weekend jockeying for position in the ECAC standings with RPI, St. Lawrence, and Harvard. All four teams are within a point of one another in the standings, with Quinnipiac tied for seventh in the ECAC at 9-9-2 and 12-16-4 overall. Quinnipiac rolls into the North Country on a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1).
