Having already locked up a spot in the Liberty League playoffs next week, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team will do some fine tuning in its final two home games, starting with crosstown rival SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday evening at Hantz Field.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Clarkson easily controls the all-time series against the Bears with 38 wins in 51 games, but Potsdam has come up big in recent years. The Golden Knights did come away with a 3-0 win against Potsdam in 2018 as Matt Adamou scored once and assisted on another goal and Ben Root helped on two other goals.

Key Stats for Clarkson (8-4-3, 4-1-3 Liberty League): The Golden Knights' defense has halted nearly all opposing offenses this year, but especially in the last six weeks. Since September 15th, Clarkson has posted eight shutouts in 10 games, allowing just four goals total in that period. The key for Clarkson is consistent defense, including freshman Kyle Jackson (1164 minutes) and juniors Greg Schebece (1037 minutes) and Brandon Bahr (1029) minutes, the three leaders in time played among field players. Senior Ian Roeloffs has also scored solid numbers with a .815 save percentage and 0.86 goals against average this year. Roeloffs has been even better in the month of October, producing a 0.46 goals against average and .893 save percentage in that span.

Key Stats for Potsdam (3-13-2, 1-7-1 SUNYAC): The Bears have endured a rough season, allowing 42 goals in 18 games. That number was ratcheted up by a recent 9-1 loss to Oneonta, but the Potsdam defense has nevertheless been porous in 2019. Things did not start out that way, as the Bears outscored their opponents 10-0 in the first two games. However, Potsdam has scored only 10 goals since. Alejandro Callejas leads the team with 11 points (5-1-11), but scored three goals in the first two games, and Teddy Bruschini is tied for second with nine points (3-3-9), producing two goals and two assists in his first two contests. Conor Callan has been kept busy as the Potsdam goalkeeper, stopping 83 shots in 1512 minutes of work.
