Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Clarkson Suffers First Loss of 2018

The longest current winning streak in NCAA Women's Hockey ended at 15 games on Friday night in New Jersey as #1-ranked Clarkson University suffered a 2-0 loss to Princeton at Hobey Baker Rink.

The Golden Knights, who were shut out for the first time since March 6, 2016, stand at 26-4-1 overall and are tied with Colgate for first place in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 16-3 league mark with three games remaining in the regular season.

Clarkson plays at Quinnipiac on Saturday in a 3:00 p.m. game in Hamden, CT. The Bobcats were the last team to defeat the Green and Gold prior to tonight, winning 3-2 in overtime at Cheel Arena on November 17.

The Knights outshot Princeton (11-11-4, 9-9-1) 27-20, but could not get a shot past the Tiger's goaltender Steph Neatby. ECAC Hockey's Rookie of the Week, freshman right wing Elizabeth Giguere (Quebec City, QUE) had a game-high six shots on goal.

After a scoreless first period, the Tigers scored the only goal they would need when Carly Bullock connected at 10:17 of the middle frame.

Bullock added an insurance goal at 1:53 of the third for her 20th goal of the season.

Clarkson went 0-of-3 on the power play and killed off all four of Princeton's man-advantage chances.

Senior goaltender Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) made 18 saves for the Knights.
