Key Returners: Despite only three wins in nine league games, the Golden Knights were on the cusp of altering the course of 2017. Of its six losses, Clarkson was within four goals in each game and lost by two goals or fewer on four occasions. The top scoring offense in the Liberty League (12.06 gpg), Clarkson returns several conference all-stars from last season, including midfielders Jaid Baytos, Taylor Collins and Abby Collins. Baytos enjoyed a breakout season with 57 points on 43 goals and 14 assists, surpassing her freshman season point total in the first game of 2017. She finished the season ranked sixth in goals per game (2.53) and points per game (3.35). Along with 29 points, Taylor Collins led the team in groundballs (44), caused turnovers (24) and draw controls (46). Abby Collins also excelled in her first season, ranking third on the team in both goals (28) and points (35) while contributing 25 groundballs and 18 caused turnovers, with the latter figure ranking second on the team. Sophomore Katie Sergeant (27-3-30) and Emma Andrews (11-11-22) also contributed considerably to the offense, while classmate Stephanie Scaia earned all-league notice on defense, ranking third on the team in both groundballs (31) and caused turnovers (16). In the crease for the Knights is junior Samantha Gladd. A Liberty League All-Star as a freshman, Gladd's numbers dipped slightly in her second season, but still ranked among the league's best with an 8.99 goals against average and 97 saves.

Key Losses: Kate Dillon produced 50 points in her senior season and earned all-league honors for the first time in her career. Classmate Ashley Flick scored only 17 points in her final collegiate season, as she was slowed considerably by an injury that reduced her point total by 41 from the previous campaign. Christina Pollard started all 17 games last year for the Knights, scoring 13 points with 16 groundballs and 10 draw controls.
