Only one weekend remains in the regular season and the fifth-ranked Clarkson University Women's Hockey team still has a lot to play for as it heads into postseason play. The Golden Knights still have an outside shot at third straight regular season conference title.

Led by eighth-year head coach Matt Desrosiers and second-year assistant coaches Britni Smith and Meghan Duggan, Clarkson is 24-3-5 overall with a 12-3-5 ECAC Hockey record, placing it in second place in the league standings. Clarkson is currently on a 13-game unbeaten streak, going 10-0-3 in that span and has clinched home ice for an ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals best-of-three game series at Cheel Arena next weekend.

Clarkson was able to keep its unbeaten streak going last weekend on the road against two ranked opponents. First, Clarkson defeated eighth-ranked Princeton 2-1. The Green and Gold showed its depth on offense against the Tigers. Of the top nine scorers for Clarkson, only freshman Rhyen McGill recorded a point against Princeton. The two goal scorers were Amanda Titus and Brielle Bellerive, with classmate Katelyn Fournier and freshmen Emma Keenan and Cassidy Vinkle also getting assists. With Bellerive's goal, every Clarkson skater has now recorded a goal this season. Bellerive, whose first goal of the season was the game-winner against the Tigers,  earned a spot on the ECAC Hockey Weekly Honor.

On Saturday, Clarkson was less than a minute away from its first loss in 12 games. Fourth-ranked Quinnipiac led Clarkson 2-1 when the Golden Knights pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker. The gamble paid off as junior assistant captain Cayley Mercer scored as Clarkson went on to tie the Bobcats 2-2. Clarkson is now 6-1-3 against ranked opponents this season. Freshman Loren Gabel also had goal against Quinnipiac en route to being named to the ECAC Hockey Weekly Honor Roll.

Brown enters the weekend with 3-21-3 overall record with a 1-16-3 conference mark. The Bears are in 11th place in the conference and have been eliminated from postseason play, but need at least 2 points to ensure they do not finish at the bottom of the league. Brown has been slightly better on the road than at home, with a 1-10-1 mark at home and a 2-11-2 record in away games.

Clarkson is 17-4-3 all-time against the Bears and is on a 17 game unbeaten run against Brown (15-0-2), including a 7-0 road win earlier this season. Vinkle and senior assistant captain Erin Ambrose each had a pair of goals in the game while Mercer and senior assistant captain Olivia Howe each notched a trio of assists. Howe now has 10 career points in seven games against the Bears.

Yale is fighting for its playoff life this weekend. The Bulldogs are in a precarious position, sitting in the eighth and final playoff spot, a single point ahead of ninth placed Cornell and one behind Rensselaer and St. Lawrence. Of the teams still left in playoff contention, Yale has the leakiest defense, allowing 57 goals in its 20 conference games. However, the Bulldogs have been able to score 54 goals of their own, good for the fifth best offense in the league.

Clarkson leads the all-time series 16-6-1 and is 8-1-1 in the last 10 matchups. The first meeting this season saw Clarkson leave with a 5-2 win with Mercer grabbing two goals, including the game-winner and Ambrose ringing up three helpers. Ambrose has racked up nine points in five games against the Bulldogs.
