Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Sept. 26, 2015

Clarkson Shut Out By Skidmore 2-0

In the opening game of the Liberty League portion of its schedule, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team failed to score for the first time this season, as it fell to Skidmore 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Clarkson now has a 3-5-1 overall record and is 0-1-0 in conference play while Skidmore improves to 5-2-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference games.

The Thoroughbreds opened the scoring at the 4:33 mark. A long cross from the left side off the foot of Jeremy Tenenbaum found Kevin Santos who opened the scoring. Skidmore doubled its lead when Augustine Okoye poked in a throw-in from Ben Caples at 20:53.

Neither team was able to score in the final 69 minutes of play, although both keepers remained busy. Michael King made seven saves in net for Clarkson while Eli Kisselbach made seven as well for Skidmore.

Skidmore outshot Clarkson 16-12, but Clarkson held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Clarkson will next travel to Bard for a 4:00 pm game on October 2nd, followed by a 2:00 pm game at Vassar on the 3rd.
