Box Score
For only the seventh time in program history, the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team is unbeaten through its first five contests as the Golden Knights were able to go on the road for the second time in four days and come away with a victory, claiming a 60-54 win over Oswego State Tuesday evening.

The Golden Knights moved to 5-0 on the season, the first flawless start through five games since 2006-07. The Lakers fell to 2-2 on the season. Clarkson is now off for the next seven days and will face crosstown rival Potsdam State on Tuesday, December 2nd.

Neither team led by more than four points in the first half as Clarkson gained a four-point lead in the opening minutes (4-0) and then trailed by four just a few minutes later (8-4). From that point on, the lead changed numerous times and the game was knotted up five more times just in the first half.

While the game was back and forth in the first half, a Felix Abongo (Beacon, NY) basket at 19:22 in the second half gave Clarkson the lead, and the Knights would never trail again. Clarkson pushed its advantage to as many as eight points (43-35) at the 10:07 mark, but the Lakers made the margin vanish with a 8-0 run in less than three minutes. Clarkson edged out again by three points at the 2:27 mark, but a Matt Crockett 3-pointer would tie the score once again. However, that basket was the last key point for the Lakers in the game. John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) made a pair of free throws at the 1:46 mark, two more with 23 seconds to go, and then Christian Collette (Yalesville, NY) buried two freebies with 12 seconds to go to give the Knights a six-point advantage. A layup by the Lakers with five seconds to go brought the Clarkson lead down to four, but Coleman sunk two more free throws with four seconds to go to clinch the win for the Knights.

After shooting just 33.3% (10-for-30) in the first half, Clarkson was able to lay claim to the win by shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor (11-for-24) in the second 20-minute stretch. Despite a tough day shooting for Coleman, he finished with a game-high 18 points thanks to his 6-for-6 performance from the line in the final two minutes. Felix Abongo tossed in 16 points and Dylan Hodownes (Honeoye Falls, NY) added six points and nine boards. Collette also tallied eight points in 13 minutes off the bench.

For Oswego, Brian Sortino scored a team-high 15 points and Crockett produced 10 points while Rashawn Powell came up a point short of a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
