The Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team had to settle for one point on the road in ECAC Hockey play Friday night as Colgate battled back to earn a 1-1 tie at Starr Rink in Hamilton, NY.
The Golden Knights (13-8-5, 7-4-3) will close out the five-game road trip at Cornell on Saturday in a 4:00 p.m. game at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, NY.
Freshman Juana Baribeau (Amos, QUE) put the Knights on the scoreboard first with her team-high sixth goal of the season at 12:03 of the opening frame. Clarkson had its chances to add to the lead in the middle frame, out shooting the Raiders 14-7 in the period, but could not put in the second goal in.
Colgate (14-9-3, 8-4-3), which ran its current unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1), tied the game with a power-play tally from Beth Rotenberg at 4:20 of the third period.
The Raiders, who went 1-of-9, on the power play, out shot Clarkson 34-27. The Knights, who were called for a season-high nine penalties, went 0-of-6 with the man advantage.
Sophomore Lauren Dahm (Baldwinsville, NY) finished with 33 saves in the Clarkson net, including 13 in the first period.
