Providence, RI - Senior Kira Hurley (Pickering, ONT) made 17 saves and allowed just one goal in her first action in several weeks, but the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team was shut out for the second straight game, this time falling to Brown 1-0 in ECACHL action Friday night.
The Golden Knights fell to 13-8-2 overall and 5-5-1 in the ECACHL while Brown improved to 4-11-2 and 2-9-1. Clarkson will look to salvage a pair of points on Saturday when it visits Yale. The Golden Knights currently reside in sixth place in the ECACHL standings, sitting one point ahead of tomorrow's opponent.
Clarkson controlled the play through the game, holding a 33-18 advantage in shots, including at least a four-shot edge in each period, but could not come through on any of its chances, including five power-play opportunities. Brown's Erin Connors scored her second goal of the season late in teh first period with Hayley Moore earning the assist. The single goal scored at 15:34 held up as Brown recorded its first shutout of the season. The Bears' Nicole Stock made 33 saves for her third career whitewash and first of the season.
