KNIGHTS WIN STREAK ENDS WITH 12-7 LOSS TO GENESEO

Geneseo, NY - A modest two-game winning streak by the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team was ended by a 12-7 loss to Geneseo Saturday afternoon in a rain-soaked non-league match up.

The Golden Knights dropped to 3-4 overall and Geneseo moved to 5-2. Clarkson begins the conference schedule next weekend when they visit Vassar.

Brian Hanlon (Marcellus, NY) and Jon Cathcart (Homer, NY) each scored two goals to lead the Golden Knights, while Mike McKenna (Camden, DE), Jon Parks (Canton, NY) and Richard Burritt (Oswego, NY) each added a goal. Matt Normandin (Clifton Park, NY) and Bryan Jackson (Northport, NY) each contributed assists.

The Golden Knights trailed 3-1 after the first quarter and 7-3 at the half, before closing to within two at the 10:27 mark of the third period. Geneseo closed out the game with a 5-2 run for the final tally. Jack Ryerson and Brian Orlowski each scored four goals to lead the Blue Knights.

Joe Zebrowski (Liverpool, NY) made seven saves for the Golden Knights and Tim Garback made seven stops for Geneseo.
