CLARKSON WOMEN FALL at RENSSELAER

April 15, 2005

The Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team's bid to win its second game in a row came up short as the Golden Knights lost 16-7 in Liberty League action at Rensselaer on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Lindsey Grigg (Watertown, NY) scored the first of her two goals just 29 seconds in to give the Golden Knights the early lead, but the Engineers came back with six unanswered tallies en route to a 9-4 half-time advantage.

Freshman Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) also scored twice for Clarkson. Junior Lindsay Roberts (Averill Park, NY) and freshmen Rachel Kopels (Queensbury, NY) and Lindsay Walker (Syracuse, NY) all scored one goal each for the Green and Gold.

Hilary Lahn, Kate Phillips and Natalie White scored three goals apiece to lead Rensselaer (4-4, 3-2).

The Engineers held a slim 30-28 shot advantage and just edged out Clarkson in groundballs 16-15.

Sophomore Erin Duffy (Liverpool, NY) made eight saves for the Knights.

Clarkson (1-11, 0-7) will play at Vassar on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m.
