The Clarkson University Women’s Lacrosse team suffered an 18-2 loss to Skidmore College in Liberty League action played at SUNY Potsdam’s artificial turf field on Friday afternoon. Skidmore (5-1, 2-0), which won its third straight, jumped out to a 10-2 lead at the half and outscored the Golden Knights 8-0 over the final 30 minutes to pull away for the conference victory.
Junior Lindsay Roberts (Averill Park, NY) and sophomore Lindsey Grigg (Watertown, NY) scored for Clarkson.
Lizzy Dickson and Annie Ledyard led the Thoroughbreds with four goals apiece. Megan McAdams added three goals for Skidmore.
The Thoroughbreds out shot Clarkson 35-11 and held a 35-30 advantage in groundballs. Sophomore Erin Duffy (Liverpool, NY) posted 12 saves for the Knights, while Sarah Berheide made three stops for Skidmore.
Clarkson, at 0-7 overall and 0-2 in Liberty League play, will host conference foe Union College at SUNY Potsdam’s artificial turf field on Saturday, at 3:30 p.m.
