CLARKSON SUFFERS 2-0 LOSS at YALE

The Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team came up short in Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (ECACHL) action on Saturday afternoon despite another strong effort on the road against one of the top teams in the league. The Golden Knights lost a close game for the second time over the weekend, falling 2-0 at Yale at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, CT. Clarkson, which stands at 9-12-6 overall and 4-9-1 in the ECACHL, lost 2-1 in overtime at 9th-ranked Princeton on Friday.
 
Following a season-high 46-save effort on Friday, sophomore Kira McDonald (Pickering, ONT) was strong in goal again for the Knights against the Bulldogs with 25 stops. McDonald recorded her 1000th career save in the game.

After a scoreless first period, Yale (11-12-1, 9-4-1 ECACHL) scored late in the middle frame with Nina Resor’s goal at 16:15. The Bulldogs struck again early in the third with Helen Resor’s tally at 3:35.
 
Clarkson, which produced 19 shots on the Yale goal, was 0-of-4 on the power play, while the Bulldogs were 0-of-2 with the man advantage.
 
The Golden Knights return to Cheel Arena next weekend to open a five-game home stand beginning with the University of Vermont on Friday, February 11.
