Wednesday's game at SUNY Plattsburgh started off on the right note for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team as the Golden Knights took an early 1-0 lead. After that initial lead, however, the play belonged all to Plattsburgh as the Cardinals scored the next seven goals to hand Clarkson its first loss of the season. The Knights, with a 1-1-1 overall record, will host Russell Sage at Clarkson Field this Saturday starting at 4:00 p.m.
Junior Jennifer Urquhart (Portland, ME) scored her second goal of the season just 42 seconds into the game, but Plattsburgh answered back with five straight goals to close out the first half, and then added two more over the final 45 minutes to post the 7-1 victory.
Gena Rosenbaum led Plattsburgh with four goals.
Sophomore Lauren Arredendo (Allendale, NJ) posted 10 saves for the Knights, who were outshot 21-4.
